Mutual Benefit Association.....

Our purpose is to support activities and community involvement projects which promote a spirit of teamwork and cooperation among employees.

Our History:

The Mutual Benefit Association (MBA) is a social organization that recognizes both active and retired employees of Duke Energy as its members. Membership in the MBA is dispersed throughout the company in eleven chapters in various work locations.

The MBA was established in 1907 to provide a source of sponsoring and organizing sports teams, trips, social events and other activities featured in our brochure. Since its inception, MBA members have volunteered their time in support of the MBA and dedicated their efforts to making the MBA a successful enterprise. The MBA has also made a commitment to provide volunteers to donate time to selected charity and community events.

Various programs have been added over the years to the list of MBA sponsored activities to make membership attractive to a diverse employee population. The MBA also provides an insurance fund that pays members a cash allowance for lost time due to illness or maternity leave.
